And great stuff there.

I strongly favour jacking up rent on the peninsula, so these government welfare whores have to move to the middle of the woods, and are out of our hair. Let them devour eachother, the fucks. Ban welfare users from living in HRM entirely. Come on Rodney, fire it up...get this fucker on final round.
Get a job, get civil, get it together, or get the fuck out.

Can't do that, it's against our charter of rights and freedoms. If they aren't in prison, on probation, etc. you can't violate peoples rights, one of which is the right to live and work where ever you want in Canada. Yup, sucks to not live in a police state.

Welfare is like probation, make it so.

If they are so not independent as to not support their own families, catch the hook!

What about our civil rights? It was supposed to be an evening of rights, not a fucking trade. Give them an inch, they took a lightyear. Cut em off. Enough the baseless handouts, the trend is statefuck. Then lynch society...

I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm all for more patrols, safer streets, better lighting and sidewalks, etc. It's almost like the city has pretty much given up on cleaning up the mess that's here. Can we blame that idiotic mayor from Bedford?

Ineffective as anything other than a distraction. Even if you land a good one, you're just likely to make someone angry.

A bullet between the eyes is the best form of therapy for these poor, misunderstood youths.

Bazooka. Get the job done. We can graft some makeshift mobile fired rocketmissile tactics off the Iraqi insurgents, too, heheheh :P

Finally, something I can relate to. One time I saw Doug Henning in Las Vegas, or perhaps it was Lake Tahoe. Anyway, somewhere with lots of gambling and hookers. And sparkly jumpsuits.

Exactly! That's the point.

Rendering himself mostly obscure was another of Doug Henning's powers:

You're missing the point, using a bazooka or a 50cal in close quarters is problematic, and you'd probably lose to someone with a pool ball in a sock.

However, a good solution might be to find some nice high ground with a good view of the commons, get yourself a nice little sniper rifle, and just wait for the little shits to start something on an innocent passer by.

Today I tried to go see my friend what got jumped recently. You have to toss pebbles at his 2nd story window -- this has gone on for years. Anyway, the cops told me to 'stop throwing rocks...'. I explained myself and he complained that he 'does want to have to fill out a property damage report...'. I'm no cop-hater but that incident standing next to many incidents of people getting fucked up by thugs, and individual cops as well as the police as whole not really responding to it like they should, is pretty fucking disheartening. It's almost encouraging vigilate justice. In my time as a bike messenger I've resorted to dancing the vigilante watussi a bunch and have been charged twice! For defending myself! Paid a fine in Hfx and dodged the charges in Mtl. Thanks Bruce Wark for highlighting the cops' negligence... Craig, it'd be cool if you and others did the same to put pressure on the cops to do something. Nothing would suck more than going to jail for defending yourself.

The doctor and the cops in my case said I was lucky to be alive and were very surprised my face or skull wasn't broken.

Putting cops in the Commons is a horrible idea.

There is more violence downtown any given night due to drunk bar patrons than there ever is on the commons. It just isn't reported nearly as often. I've lived in two high crime zone areas in the downtown core: above European at Pizza corner, and Argyle St a block up from the dome. Cops were never present and fights occured EVERY night. Usually college kids . Now i live in the North end near Uniacke and i feel much much safer leaving and returning to my house late at night.(til they put the police office in the square, now i'm paranoid about getting a $117 fine most nights). I think people are just getting all uptight because they think it was probably "gangstas" performing these swarmings. Deal with downtown, it's a bigger problem. I don't want cops around the commons when i feel like smoking a joint or drinkin a beer or walking my dog off the leash.
