But you know what, they do have the tams every sunday which is pretty darn cool. I miss that a lot. Also pik nik electronique...woot!
I'm having the same internal debate...do I stay or do I go?

i'd stay if i made more money. i'd call this my home for a while and get more involved with the arts community. unfortunately though.. i can hardly make rent. tired of hand to mouth. unfortunately i love my job and the people i have met and it will be hard to leave. but its gonna happen regardless in 2 1/2 months.

montreals pretty cool, i dont see myself living here for more than a year or two, though. i dont think i'll ever feel like its my "home", not in the same way halifax is.

ps. people in mtl love maritimers, especially nova scotians. i think its because were as far away from toronto or calgary as you can get.

if you wanna go then go, don't think of reasons to stay.
a week after i graduated high school i moved to montreal, lived there for five/six years, got sick of it and left.
once i get sick of here i'll move again.

I'm quite bored with halifax, and I've only been legal for a year and a half. It seems like (save for the occasional show) we've got nothing to really do. We're primarily a tourist city, and there's not 20+ years worth here. I'm here right now because I go to SMU, but in a couple of uyears I'm off to Montréal or Toronto. Lower tuition, better school (fuck Dal law...and it's got nothing to do with being from SMU), nicer city...

Plus there's the thing where we've got the lowest minimum wage for living cost. I'm sorry but working part time through university for $7.15 an hour is bullshit. I guess students aren't supposed to eat, eh?

This city is everything you put into it.

If you think you've put enough in, and aren't happy with what you've got back, go try somewhere else. I have yet to give this city my share, but once I do I'm getting the hell out of here.

I'm debating this myself...I don't know what to do. I have friends, I have a job, I'm comfortable here (the first city I've been able to be able to call "home" in the last few years). I'm seriously considering staying, and right now it seems like my best option....even if it is just for now.

I've only lived in Halifax for a few years... and I probably won't be here forever, but there's something about this city.

Not sure how to describe it... maybe it's the people, the music, the ocean, the easy-going atmosphere... a combination of things. There's a sense of community here. And if you can get a decent job, it's a great place to be.

But I think Waye hit the nail on the head... you have to live elsewhere to appreciate it. If the opportunity to leave comes up, you should go for it.

Oh yes it is.. in every possible way. The only thing Halifax has over Montreal is Oland's Export.
