See, I'm just the opposite. I adore Sook-Yin, though radio is not for her.
I'm calling cheesebucket yeah-I-was-there-in-the-80s votes on at least half of the above. Seriously, someone thought Dan Gallagher was GOOD? Like, as in more skilled than the average? I doubt it. He was occasionally comical, mostly for his habit of taking, I dunno, whomever's in town let's say Anthrax - to the Pizza Pizza next door, over and over again. Public Enemy, we're goin' for pizza, Bruce Cockburn, you must be vegetarian, right? You liked his loud jackets maybe, his poofy hair maybe, but GOOD? Mmm, dunno. Williams was interesting, because he was very much aware of being a journalist covering the birth of a genre, but he sounded just as canned as they all tend to and I'm sad he never kept it up. Strombolopolous, god love'im, has real conversations with folks, and I love him for that. Erica Ehm was quite likeable and quite serious. Donlon was pretty real. Steve Anthony was, um, a bit gritty in the teeth(?), and still is. I could make a vote for Mike Campbell: he is the same on and off TV, and he does not half-ass things.
Fuckit, tho, I'm saying Strombo, for good chats, sly humor, and not believing his own press releases. Flame away.
